Call for Papers for 2011 KDI Journal of Economic Policy Conference
- Theme: Globalization, Growth, and Inequality
- Date: August 9, 2011
- Venue: Korea Development Institute, Seoul, Korea
- Submission Deadline: June 15, 2011
The 2011 KDI Journal of Economic Policy Conference will be held as a one-day conference on August 9(Tuesday). The 2011 KDI JEP Conference is the 9th annual conference which KDI has been organizing in collaboration with KAEA since 2003.
The main theme of this year’s conference is Globalization, Growth, and Inequality. Although our focus is particularly on inequality, we also welcome papers from all fields of economics broadly related to the theme. We do not require that all three key words be analyzed in one paper. Papers that have strong policy implications are favored. In particular, we strongly encourage young economists to submit their recent work.
A submission will be accepted only if it is a complete paper with (i) an abstract of 300-400 words, (ii) 3-5 keywords, and (iii) JEL code(s) on the title page. The papers may be in Korean, in which case (i) the paper should also include an English abstract of 500 words, (ii) with charts, diagrams, and references in English. The conference will be in English. Submissions should be sent to Dr. Sangdal SHIM (sdshim@kdi.re.kr), the Chairman of the Steering Committee of 2011 KDI Journal of Economic Policy Conference, with a cc to Dr. Wankyo CHUNG (wankyo@kdi.re.kr ), the Managing Editor of the KDI JEP.
Submitted papers will be reviewed by the Steering Committee of this Conference. Around 12+ papers will be selected from the submissions. Several additional papers may be invited from the distinguished scholars in the field.
Each selected paper will be awarded an honorarium of KRW2,000,000 by KDI. In case the honorarium fails to cover the economy-class roundtrip airfare of one person for the conference travel, KDI will reimburse the extra cost. In addition, accommodation for two nights per paper will be provided to the paper presenters traveling from outside Seoul for this conference.
It should be noted that submitting a paper to this conference also constitutes a submission to the KDI Journal of Economic Policy published by KDI. After the conference, presented papers will automatically go through a review process for possible publication in the journal. Papers accepted for publication will be awarded an additional honorarium of KRW1,500,000 by KDI. Any inquiries regarding this conference may be directed to Dr. Sangdal SHIM (sdshim@kdi.re.kr).
