Dr. Jay Pil Choi

Dr. Jay Pil Choi has been a professor of economics at Michigan State University sicne 2000. He previously was a faculty member at Seoul National University and Columbia University. He received his Ph. D. in economics from Harvard University in 1990. He is currently a co-editor of International Journal of Industrial Organization, an editorial board member of Information Economics and Policy, and an associate editor of e-conomics. He also served as an associate editor of European Economic Review. He was awarded Public Utility Research Prize for the Best Paper in Regulatory Economics by International Industrial Organization Conference (2009), Tae-Sung Kim Memorial Prize by the Korean Econometric Society (1999).
Dr. Choi distinguished himself through important contributions to the field of microeconomics, especially in industrial organization, information economics, political economics, and the economics of regulation.
He published more than 35 research articles in prestigious academic journals including American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, International Economic Review, and Journal of Public Economics. He also published a book Recent Development in Antitrust: Theory and Evidence (MIT Press, 2007).
