Dear KAEA friends:
Hope you are doing well. This is Sunghyun Kim at Sungkyunkwan University. As a long-time KAEA member, I would like to make an announcement/advertisement regarding an academic journal. I recently took over the International Economic Journal (IEJ) as Editor-in-Chief. This journal is associated with the Korean International Economic Association (KIEA), published by Taylor & Francis. General journal information is available at https://www.tandfonline.com/loi/riej20.
As some of you may know, IEJ has a long-standing relationship with KAEA. The journal used to have two co-editors (one from KIEA and the other from KAEA) and have active participation by the KAEA members as Associate Editors, referees, and authors. I remember that Prof. Sunwoong Kim at Wisconsin-Milwaukee was the last co-editor from KAEA. In the past several years, however, this relationship has disappeared and the journal has basically no submission by the KAEA members.
As a new Editor, I would like to reinstate this relationship and promote a close relationship between IEJ and KAEA. As a first step, I recruited a number of prominent KAEA members as Associate Editors for the Journal. You can find the full list of Editorial Board members on the journal website. Next step is to promote more submissions from the KAEA members. I would personally give close attention to the papers submitted by the KAEA members and provide fast turnaround time. Please note that the paper has to go through regular refereeing process. Currently, KAEA does not have its own academic journal, unlike many other academic associations, and IEJ can be a promising outlet of your papers. I believe that submission by the KAEA members would improve the journal quality as well.
IEJ is currently a Scopus-cited journal and we plan to start the process of getting into SSCI journal list soon. All submission is done through ScholarOne online submission system and it is currently free. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have and I look forward to continuous and strong relationship between IEJ and KAEA. Thank you.
Best,
Sunghyun Henry Kim
