THE 2016 MAEKYUNG-KAEA ECONOMIST AWARD
The KAEA is pleased to announce that Professor Doh-Shin Jeon (Toulouse School of Economics and SungKyunKwan University) is going to receive the 2016 Maekyung-KAEA Economist Award for his professional achievement. The award ceremony will be held during the Annual Meeting of the KAEA at Hilton Union Square in San Francisco (Continental Parlors 7 & 8), at 6:00 pm, January 4, 2016. Congratulations!
Doh-Shin Jeon is professor of economics at Toulouse School of Economics and at Sungkyunkwan University. Doh-Shin is also a part-time research fellow at the CEPR. Doh-Shin obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Toulouse 1 in 2000 and then held an assistant professor position at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. After getting tenured at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, he returned back to Toulouse in 2008. Expert in industrial organization, Doh-Shin’s research has a strong focus on the economics of information technology and intellectual property and his articles were published in major international journals such as American Economic Review, Rand Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, Journal of the European Economic Association etc. He is an associate editor of the Jounral of Industrial Economics and received the ANACOM best workshop paper award in 2013 and numerous grants (such as Ramon y Cajal from the Spanish government and ANR from the French government)

THE 2016 KAEA YOUNG SCHOLAR AWARD
The KAEA is pleased to announce that Professors Kyungmin Kim (University of Iowa) and Soohyung Lee (University of Maryland) receive the 2016 KAEA Young Scholar Award for their professional achievement. The award ceremony will be held during the Annual Meeting of the KAEA at Hilton Union Square in San Francisco (Continental Parlors 7 & 8), at 6:00 pm, January 4, 2016. Congratulations!
Kyungmin Kim is assistant professor of economics at the University of Iowa. He received his PhD from University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and served as assistant professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology before joining the University of Iowa in 2010. He is an economic theorist, mainly working in the areas of information economics, bargaining theory, and search theory. He has published in several prestigious journals, such as Econometrica, Theoretical Economics, RAND Journal of Economics, and American Economic Journal: Microeconomics. He is also revising several papers for other leading journals, such as Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, and Review of Financial Studies. Soohyung Lee is an assistant professor of economics at the University of Maryland. Professor Lee received her PhD from Stanford University in 2008. Her field is applied microeconomics in the broadest sense, and she has worked on wide-ranging topics including education, labor, and family economics. She has published nearly a dozen papers, relatively in a short span of her career. In more than a few occasions, interesting results from her work were cited by the popular media.
