Korea-America Economic Association (KAEA) is pleased to announce financial support for doctoral students participating in the job market at the 2015 ASSA meetings in Boston, MA.
Eligibility–Applicants must be Ph.D. candidates in economics or a closely-related field, expected to actively participate in this year’s job market and graduate by August 2015. Candidates whose job market expenses will be fully funded from other sources or who have received the KAEA travel award in previous years are not eligible. Application is open to all Korean candidates regardless of their current KAEA membership. KAEA will automatically convert non-member winners to junior members for the 2014 calendar year by deducting the membership fee of $5 from the award.
Travel award–The exact amount of the award will be determined after the application deadline. The amount will depend on the number of qualified applicants. Preference may be given to current members and early applicants. KAEA is aiming for $200-$500 per recipient, with a reduced rate for local candidates from the Boston area. In addition, each recipient will be given a chance to become a lifetime member of KAEA for a discounted fee of $100 (normally $200). Recipients must pick up the award in person at the Boston meetings–no exceptions. The specific time and place of pickup will be e-mailed to recipients by December 19, 2014.
To apply–Please (i) send your name, e-mail address, telephone number, address, affiliation, field of specialization, and the expected date of your final defense (month and year) and (ii) have your placement officer/secretary or graduate program director (not thesis advisor) send a brief e-mail confirming your job market participation to:
