Travel Support for Korean Ph.D. Students in Economics
The Korea-America Economic Association (KAEA) is very pleased to announce that it will provide a financial support for Korean or Korean-American doctoral students who will participate in the job market at the 2011 ASSA meetings in Denver, CO.
Eligibility – The student must be a Ph.D. candidate in economics or a closely related field at a university in the U.S. or Canada, who is expected to graduate by August 2011 and actively participates in the job market this year. The student who is fully funded by any other source of funds or received the KAEA travel support before will not be qualified. The local students from the Denver, CO area who do not plan to stay overnights are not eligible. The estimated travel costs for an applicant should be more than $300. The applicant should be a KAEA regular/junior member, or join KAEA as a regular/junior member when he/she applies for the scholarship. (See KAEA membership in the KAEA Webpage)
Travel subsidy – The KAEA plans to pay a partial travel subsidy of $300 to each student and lifetime membership (worth of $200). Student should pick up the check in person at the Denver meetings in January 2011. Specific time and place for the pick-up will be e-mailed to each of the recipients by December 10, 2010.
